ENGLISH PHONETICS AND PHONOLOGY

NOTES ON CHAPTERS

These notes are intended to point out other sources of information (particularly places on the internet) to readers of English Phonetics and Phonology and to add some notes of my own which could not be fitted into the book.

In the book, I have avoided giving website addresses (URL’s) for two reasons: the first is that this would make readers who do not have internet access feel that they are not properly equipped to study the book. The other reason is that information about websites goes out of date much more quickly than information about books and journal papers; books can take years to update, but web pages can be updated in minutes.

I intend to update these pages regularly, so I hope that they will grow in value. I would always be grateful for suggestions from readers for other sources of information I could include.
